this is a good workout but really why do all the coaches emphasize the leg press machine??!!?! i just dont get it .. its a horrible piece of equipment for training football players maybe bodybuilders but ot football players get them box squating and regular squating

the last thing the coach wants is someone crumbling under the bar. also, they can introduce their legs to heavy weights without having to place a bar on their back ( bad lower back pains really kill an athlete's career)

you have a small point.. im not trying to start an internet war with you so just dont take this offensevly.. first of all the leg press machine causes lower back pain , not squats... your back is in a more unatural position and is rounded.... and second the athlete isnt going to crumble on the bar anymore then he would on a leg press.. and squats can always be done very safely with a powerack with self spotters so if he drops the weight he will be alright...

What should also be taken into account is that MOST (not all) non-pro athletes lift with ego and poor form. A proper squat has the qualities that you described, but the average squatter is not up to par with his form.

the leg press does such it wrecks yours knees deep squats and chained box squats determine real football strenght and quickness out of a stance. If your back is hurt squating you are obviously not squating right.....fuck the bench btw
