They have players that come in who have never been in weight room?!?! I guess that’s why the SEC is dominant… Down here I have never heard of high school that doesn’t lift… Well I have but they only won 1 game… So that shows alot…
my buddy went to State college HS and he told me that PSU does not have their players squat…….. i didn’t see any squatting in this video………is this true?
So this is what big time college football is like signed the ucla bruin football team.
@poz4prez
PENN STATE!!!
@sschroff its accepted that strength to weight ratio is a flawed method of comparison. Why? it doesnt take into account work. Additionally, its also known that strength to weight ratio drops on average as someone gets heavier. Coordination also drops when someone gets taller. So there is a guy who is 5 foot 3 that can do a bunch of flips and turns and shit… ok. Im talking about measureable attributes like vertical jump and 20 yard dash. Olympic lifters will crush gymnasts.
@tglinebacker42 it makes a huge difference your right. But you take one athlete that goes to michigan and another that goes to penn state, when those two teams meet, the difference in quality of the strength programs for those two schools, or virtually any other D1 school is negligible to the point that it is going to have virtually zero effect on the game in my opinion. In the end it will come down to who had the better athletes to begin with and who coaches/leads their team better.
@Shadowzz4
Sorry man but as a long time athlete who competed in many different sports I have to say, gymnasts (something I never was or ever could be), are by far the best athletes to be found. Pound for pound the strongest and most explosive athletes you will ever find. They are also the most graceful and flexible.
After them would come track and field throwers
@earthb4lanc3
Leg press is good if used right, you could say the same about squat. I know a guy with a blown knee cus he put on too much weight.
@jmac10x
Fuck the bench? I know it’s an over rater lift, but it is vital for football, especially linemen, it’s a press.
WE ARE……
nice video guys
@mike7ace highest vert? really? im not trying to be a douche but you have any proof of that :s
@moss4life100 Wow that was not me…. some one has defintely hacked my youtube… hmm….
@earthb4lanc3 ur an idiot
In response to the Leg Press, that is a Medx Avenger, Gentle on the knees! Ergonomic, please go out of your way to try one, you will change your opinion forever after you try this, no longer in production unicorn of the strength and conditioning world.
the steroids they put in you mean ? not work
Shadowzz4 is 100% correct. No argue about that lol
the leg press does such it wrecks yours knees deep squats and chained box squats determine real football strenght and quickness out of a stance. If your back is hurt squating you are obviously not squating right…..fuck the bench btw
oh .. well i disagree but i respect ur opinion pce
What should also be taken into account is that MOST (not all) non-pro athletes lift with ego and poor form. A proper squat has the qualities that you described, but the average squatter is not up to par with his form.
you have a small point.. im not trying to start an internet war with you so just dont take this offensevly.. first of all the leg press machine causes lower back pain , not squats… your back is in a more unatural position and is rounded…. and second the athlete isnt going to crumble on the bar anymore then he would on a leg press.. and squats can always be done very safely with a powerack with self spotters so if he drops the weight he will be alright…
the last thing the coach wants is someone crumbling under the bar. also, they can introduce their legs to heavy weights without having to place a bar on their back ( bad lower back pains really kill an athlete’s career)
this is a good workout but really why do all the coaches emphasize the leg press machine??!!?! i just dont get it .. its a horrible piece of equipment for training football players maybe bodybuilders but ot football players get them box squating and regular squating
this couple looks like one I chatted to on tiny[.]cc/fuckmywife
im a strength training student, but i think its important to actually practice skills AND lift weights to get better at football.
